This lecture offers a comprehensive and engaging introduction to the legislative and executive institutions of the Federal Republic of Germany at the federal level. Alongside a constitutional framework and an examination of key institutions, the course analyzes parliamentary and governmental action through various political science theories and approaches, highlighting their interactions and interdependencies.
The lecture also draws comparisons with the state level and addresses contemporary trends and challenges such as de-parliamentarization, judicialization, and Europeanization.
Prior attendance of the introductory lecture on the political system of the Federal Republic of Germany is recommended but not required for successful participation.
