Giulia Sandri is Scientific Advisor for European and International Funding at the EU Liaison Office of the Université libre de Bruxelles. Between 2012 and 2024, she was Associate Professor in Political Science, Director of ESPOL-LAB Research Centre for European and International Politics and Co-Director of the Master in Digital Politics and Governance at the Catholic University of Lille. Moreover, she is member of the Executive Committee of the Political Studies Association’s Technology, Internet, and Policy Specialist Group (TIP) and member (and previously Work Package leader) of the Horizon Europe project “ACTEU-Towards a new era of representative democracy - Activating European citizens’ trust in times of crises and polarization” which runs between 2023 and 2026. She is also co-chair of the Digital Parties Network.

She was previously Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Christ Church college and at the Department of Politics and International Relations of the University of Oxford. She holds a PhD from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium.

Her main research interests are AI policy, digital politics, comparative politics, and political behavior. Her work recently has been published in Information, Communication & Society, in the Journal of Elections, Public Opinion and Parties; Réseaux and French Politics. She also published with Springer an edited volume on “Digital Parties – The Challenges of Online Organisation and Participation”, with Oscar Barberà (University of Valencia, Spain) and Patricia Correa (Aston University, United Kingdom).
